Dear Dr. Paul,
I love the idea of The Reverse Bucket List! When I go shopping and decide against something due to budget constraints, I put a wavy line through it. Yes, I figure that I have the choice to purchase it later, but I’m actually fine in the meantime. Somehow that wavy line gives me permission to feel greater contentment, even as the straight line (accompanied by a check mark too! lol) provides a sense of accomplishment. It’s the old Be-Do! Be before Do! Things that I still may need or really want are circled; priorities have a way of making themselves known.
I may have to ask myself some soul-searching questions if I’m in over-drive to achieve by attaching my need to feel ok while using specific actions for the criteria. This would be at the expense of attaching to people. Would that not reduce our endeavors to mere transaction, vs. sacrificial love? What kinds of bonds do we want to prioritize?
