In the previous epidode of Live On Purpose Radio, you heard Frank Abagnale tell his story from his own perspective. In this episode, Mr. Abagnale very graciously joins Dr. Paul for a discussion of some of the principles and morals that make his story inspiring. What Frank did as a notorious con-man 40 years ago gave him the power to catch people’s attention. What he has done since then can illuminate the principles that could bring some enormous power into your life if you are willing to be taught from his deep bank of experience. Please visit www.abagnale.com to learn more about what Frank is offering now to the world.

I got a message from these two fine young people who are trying to take this message further…

Dear Dr. Jenkins, Our names are Emily and Catherine and we are 8th grade honors students from Washington state who are currently competing in the state division National History Day Competition. (More on that at: http://www.nationalhistoryday.org/). The topic this year is An Individual in History: Actions and Legacies and we chose Frank W. Abagnale for our exhibit. While researching, we found your interview with him and listened to it. We were wondering if you had a further statement about your interview with him that directly relates to Abagnale’s impact and/or legacy.
Thank you for your time, Emily and Catherine

    I responded with this…

    Catherine and Emily,

Thank you so much for listening to Live On Purpose Radio! I hope you found it to be informative and helpful. You asked about some of my thoughts regarding Mr. Abagnale. I heard Mr. Abagnale speak in Salt Lake City last fall, after having already seen the movie, “Catch Me If You Can.” The thing that impressed me the most about his presentation then was his emphasis on family and ethics. I approached him after the meeting, and he very graciously agreed to do the interview. Here is a man who has experienced so many things that astound most people. In all of that experience, he came to the conclusion that family is the most important thing in the world. I was also impressed with his strong advocacy for ethics and morals. It is just so important to do the right things for the right reasons. What an inspiration that someone can make the kind of mistakes that Frank made, and still put his life back together. If Frank W. Abagnale can do it, then maybe you or I can do it too. I am so glad that Mr. Abagnale is using his influence now to empower and inspire. Our world is a better place because of his impact and legacy. He’s not proud of the crimes that he committed, and the people who were hurt as a result – but his is a powerful voice for choice and accountability now that he has learned what life is all about.

All my best to you in your project! Please let me know if I can help you further, and keep listening!

    Dr. Paul
